This page explains how to delete your Backgammon Rocks account and what happens to your data after deletion. Account deletion is permanent.
You can delete your account directly from the Backgammon Rocks app:
After confirmation, the app deletes your server profile and then deletes the account authentication record. You will be signed out automatically.
You can also delete your account through the Backgammon Rocks website:
If you created or sign in to Backgammon Rocks with Google or Apple, your Backgammon Rocks account may not have a separate Backgammon Rocks password. In that case, the delete flow confirms your identity by asking Google or Apple to re-authenticate you.
Deleting your Backgammon Rocks account removes your Backgammon Rocks profile and the authentication record used by Backgammon Rocks. It does not delete your Google Account or Apple Account.
After deleting your Backgammon Rocks account, you may also want to remove Backgammon Rocks from the list of apps connected to your Google Account or Apple Account. This is optional, but it helps keep your connected-apps list clean.
Google also provides help for managing linked apps and third-party services: Manage links between your Google Account and apps.
Apple explains this process here: Manage your apps with Sign in with Apple.
Deleting your account removes server-side account data, including:
We may retain limited information when reasonably necessary for legal compliance, fraud and abuse prevention, security, dispute resolution, or enforcing our agreements. Backups may retain deleted data for a limited period until they are overwritten through the normal backup cycle.
Match or replay records that also belong to another player may be kept only after removing your player ID, username, country, and other direct profile links. We may also retain aggregate statistics, including a count and date of account deletions, that do not identify the deleted account.
Deleting your game account does not necessarily remove a separate newsletter subscription. If you subscribed to email updates, use the unsubscribe link in any newsletter before or after deleting your account. We may retain a minimal suppression record so an unsubscribed address is not added again by mistake. If you need help, contact us at the address below.
Account deletion does not automatically erase information stored only on your own device or browser. This may include cached files, cookies, local storage, board and checker styles, language, sound, or other offline preferences. You can remove local data by clearing the app data or clearing your browser storage for backgammon.rocks.
Account deletion cannot be undone. Once deletion is complete, the deleted account and server-side profile cannot be recovered by you or by Backgammon Rocks. If you want to use Backgammon Rocks again after deletion, you need to create a new account.
If you cannot access your account or cannot delete it from the app or website, contact us from the email address associated with your account.
